Celebrating the life of
John Carey ChapmanJuly 11, 1940 - July 01, 2010

Mr. John Carey Chapman, 69, of Rincon, passed away at home July 01, 2010 after a long illness. He would have celebrated his 70th birthday on July 11, 2010.

Mr. Chapman was the owner and operator of Chapman's Paint & Body Shop for 35 years. He served briefly in both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. Mr. Chapman was a Master Mason and member of Zerubbabel Lodge No. 15.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ms. Retha L. Chapman and Mr. Frank S. Chapman; a brother, Mr. Carnell Chapman and a son, Carey Carnell Chapman.

Mr. Chapman is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ms. Betty E. Chapman; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan & Tommie Moore of Ellabell, DeAnne & John Carter of Rincon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Darryl & Marie Chapman of Ocala, FL and Victor Anderson of Hilton Head Island, SC; seven grandchildren, Allen Rowe, J.J. Rowe, Colby Carter, Scott Anderson, Melissa Anderson, Ryan Chapman and Evan Chapman; two great grandchildren, Amber Oliver and Summer Anderson; sister, Mrs. Patricia Mardula John; eight brothers, Roy Chapman Doris, Earl Chapman, Chuckie Chapman Mary, Eugene Chapman JoAnn, Denny Chapman Nell, Jerry Chapman, Jackie Chapman and Norman Chapman Kathy as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Captain Kenneth Chapman officiating.

Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Masonic Rites.

We are so sorry for your loss. Please know that Mr. Carry will be fondly remembered, by the front of the neighborhood as Mr. Toot, Toot. He never failed to toot the horn when he passed his sister, Pat's, house. He always had a smile and a hands up for the neighbores as he passed by. Mr. Carry will be sadly missed.
